Vibration Isolation Performance of an Adaptive Magnetorheological Elastomer-Based Dynamic Vibration Absorber

This study evaluates the vibration isolation performance of an adaptive magnetorheological elastomer (MRE)-based dynamic absorber (MRE-DVA) for mitigating high frequency vibrations (100–250 Hz) target devices. A simple and effective MRE-DVA design was presented its experimentally measured. cylindrical shaped MRE pad configured to be operated in shear mode also worked as a semi-actively tunable spring achieving DVA. complex stiffness analysis damper force cycle conducted it observed that controllable range greater than two over tested range. The transmissibility system measured used index evaluate performance. It demonstrated better device exposed could achieved by using MRE-DVA.
